Heather and Chris had a beautiful ceremony and reception among st the trees at The Walnut Grove in Moorpark, California. I rush edited their video so they could show it two weeks later to the family and friends at their hometown reception in Philadelphia!

Sumer and Kendall met at their office where they both work as Hollywood talent agents! What a cool job, right? Kendall fell in love right away but took awhile to work up the nerve to ask Sumer out on a date. From there, the rest was history. These two are able to work together everyday and still keep their romance fresh and affectionate. Filming their wedding at the Del Rey Yacht Club was so much fun! Their highlights video features some awesome drone footage and a song (the last one) performed live by Kendall's super-talented mom!
These two bright, happy spirits tied the knot in an intimate Cardiff Reef State Beach ceremony followed by dinner and dancing alongside the waves! It was so perfect for these two surfers! Alessandra is one of my best friends in the world, so I was so happy I got to be with her for all of her special day, from the pre-makeup Buti yoga session to the many heartfelt toasts by family members. Congratulations Alex and Garek!
These lovebirds are dear friends and they have the BEST proposal story. Since they both love surfing, Garek proposed to Alex while they were out on their boards. He even held onto the ring in his mouth while paddling out through the waves so he wouldn't lose it!
I'm actually long overdue on posting this photo shoot, so stay tuned for their full wedding, coming up soon!
Kayleigh and Cody's beautiful ceremony took place at the historic San Diego Mission cathedral and their reception started off with a gorgeous sunset over the bay. I loved Kayleigh's authentically beautiful smile throughout the day and Cody's fun-loving goofy dance moves. Congratulations Kayleigh and Cody!
I had a great time in the sunny hills of Malibu filming Iva and David's traditional Jewish wedding. The Malibou Lake Mountain Club has such a classic and elegant feel! I hope I get to shoot there again! Congrats Iva and David!
When I first met Lili + Devin I could immediately see how in love they were. As Lili's MOH describes it, "You guys are best friends and you're so comfortable together." This wedding highlights also features my first ever drone footage, giving us an epic aerial view of the ceremony! (courtesy of ABI Photo)
My dear friends Katie and Enzo's big day finally happened! I was thrilled to film a wedding with many of my close friends in attendance, and also super excited for the food! Katie is a vegan chef so she meticulously designed the menu for the outstanding 5-course dinner reception. As a vegan I'm used to eating salad and bread at weddings, so this was a refreshing change! Here's their wedding highlights video premiere!
Amanda + Isaac, both California transplants, met in the Marine Corps and both served tours overseas. Their beachy, intimate ceremony and restaurant reception included lots of fun vintage-inspired details!
"We just fit, we just flow together," Katie explained during this Love Story shoot. I couldn't agree more! These two are PERFECT for each other and I'm so excited for their wedding THIS WEEKEND! Until then, enjoy my first official Love Story Documentary!
If you'd love this kind of film to show at your rehearsal dinner or reception, drop me a line!
Mel and I go way back. We met through a mutual friend one summer while galavanting around High Street in Columbus, Ohio. Since then she's always been solid as a rock-- always there for adventures and heart-to-hearts. Melissa visited us in San Diego earlier this year and promptly decided to move here! Brina is obviously equally adventurous as she trusted Mel completely and was totally down to move to SoCal sight unseen! I'm so happy to have these two as neighbors now and to photograph their upcoming wedding!
Kelsey was one of my first real friends in San Diego. We moved here around the same time (me from Ohio, her from New Jersey) and met working at the same restaurant. Since then our friendship has grown through lots of pints and lots of adventures- surfing, biking, and an amazing trip to Italy to visit our mutual friend Amanda. It was while wandering the cobblestone streets of Florence that she and Colton, who I've also grown to love, decided to tie the knot!
I'm incredibly excited to celebrate and photograph their wedding in October! They also agreed to be my first engagement photo shoot so a few days ago we hit up some La Jolla ocean overlooks to snap these during a gorgeous sunset. I am SO HAPPY with the results and SO HAPPY for these two!
Amanda and Isaac had a very sunny and cheerful wedding in Cuvier Park in La Jolla yesterday, with only a small, intimate group of family and friends at the ceremony and reception. Just LOOK at that vintage dress! It's amazing! I was a short dress bride and I always LOVE to see short wedding dresses. Short dress solidarity!
Laura and Alejandro had one of the prettiest Catholic church weddings I've ever seen. Everything was colorful and breezy and the priest had a great sense of humor. Here's a little trailer of their ceremony.
Building a small business is HARD, people. When I started in this industry I was pretty naive. I had no solid plans of becoming full time so I didn't really do a ton of research into what wedding filmmakers actually do to make it work. I'll admit it, I pretty much haphazardly learned as I grew.
A couple years ago, I decided to make the jump into advertising. For wedding vendors, there are a plethora of endless advertising options out there! Luckily I was just coming down from the high of my own wedding, so I turned to the "old reliable" wedding planning blogs I used to help me with my own shindig, A Practical Wedding and Offbeat Bride.
Thanks to my first sponsored post on A Practical Wedding a couple years ago I've booked some amazing weddings with cool, smart couples and even gotten to travel to Monterey and Sacramento!
My featured vendor listing on Offbeat Bride is a new investment, but I've already booked a couple San Diego weddings with awesome couples for this summer. I love Offbeat Bride because they feature real, authentic couples who are really thinking about what marriages and weddings mean to them, rather than blindly following tradition and some *other* wedding blogs' advice.
If you're a vendor looking for advertising or an engaged couple looking for vendors, I highly recommend Offbeat Bride!
It's summer, finally! San Diego's "June gloom" has lifted and the sun is blazing! The time has come for sunbathing, surfing without wetsuits, and bonfires! I love it. To get you in the mood, here's a sweet beach wedding I shot in Corona del Mar last summer. I just love seeing the waves crashing in the background as Gume and Jeremy get married!
Katie & Enzo are good friends of mine and I'm so excited to film their wedding this fall! Today we got together in Balboa Park to film some interviews for their Love Story Documentary! They'll be showing this during their rehearsal dinner to help all of each other's relatives and friends from far away get to know them!
I rented a 5d Mark III and 50mm 1.2 for this shoot and the footage looks AMAZING! Check out these freeze frames!
A month ago I had the pleasure of working with Blessed Wedding Photography on Ruth and Lewis's Marina Village, Mexican-influenced wedding. The handmade Day of the Dead ornaments were so unique! I also had a lot of opportunities to use my new slider to get some really snazzy shots (if I do say so myself)! I'm really happy with how the editing came together for this wedding also. Let me know what you think!
In April I had the pleasure of shooting a Behind the Scenes video for a vendor-collaboration style shoot. The amazing planner Andi from Now That's A Party set it up! We had gorgeous models, luscious flowers, and a super unique concept! The best part for me was getting to practice new cinematography without the pressure of an actual wedding! Enjoy!
